Devience

Devience is a guitar-based rock band formed at the end of 2008. The group is built around melodies, riffs and strong vocals, and describes its sound as drawing on a broad range of rock and pop-rock influences, from Metallica to One Republic.

Formation and line-up

The band begins as a collaboration between two musicians who share a common interest in making music and decide to combine their different ideas into a single sound. After forming, they look for additional members and bring in Vas on drums, then Ben on bass. Vas is described as the drummer and Ben as the bassist.

Musical approach

Devience focuses on writing music that is intended to connect with a wide audience rather than a particular stereotype. Its songwriting is centred on strong melodies and lines that the band feels listeners can relate to, alongside a rock sound built from guitar riffs and prominent vocals.
