Despite Exile are a deathcore and metalcore group from Udine, Italy. They form in 2010 and are associated with the Italian progressive deathcore scene.

Sound and style

The band plays a mix of death metal sections, breakdowns and guitar melodies. Their music is described as combining ferocious heaviness with more melodic and rhythmic elements, placing them within progressive deathcore as well as metalcore.

Releases and activity

In 2010, Despite Exile release their debut EP, Scarlet Reverie. It receives a strong response from webzines and music sites, and helps the band begin touring in Italy. They then continue with live activity in Italy and France and record another EP, with the track “Oscillate” premiered online and a video made for “Perfection Neutralized”.
