Derek Sandy is a reggae and soca/carnival singer and songwriter who lives on the Isle of Wight and is originally from Tobago. He says he has been playing and singing throughout his life, including from an early age, when he performs for the president of Tobago. He also works in support of Bob Marley and other reggae artists.

He releases a debut solo album and later returns to the studio to record more reggae and soca/carnival material, with some additional musical influences.
