Der Weg einer Freiheit
Der Weg einer Freiheit is a German black metal and atmospheric black metal group from Würzburg, formed in 2009 by Nikita Kamprad and Tobias Jaschinsky. The pair previously play together in Frostgrim and Fuck Your Shadow From Behind. The project begins as a duo, with programmed drums, and later develops into a full band.
Early releases and line-up changes
The band releases its self-produced debut album, Der Weg Einer Freiheit, in March 2009. After signing to Viva Hate Records, it is reissued with new artwork, the bonus track “Ruhe”, and drums recorded by Christian Bass. Bass later leaves in 2011 because of lack of time. Tobias Schuler, previously of Fuck You And Die, then joins on drums and completes the line-up for the Agonie EP.
Albums
Der Weg einer Freiheit issues its second full-length album, Unstille, in 2012 on Viva Hate Records. Stellar follows in 2015 on Season of Mist, and Finisterre appears in 2017. The band is active from 2009 to the present and is associated with black metal, atmospheric black metal, and progressive black metal.
Members
The current line-up includes Nikita Kamprad on guitars and vocals, Sascha Rissling on guitars, Giuliano Barbieri on bass, and Tobias Schuler on drums. Former members include Tobias Jaschinsky, who handles vocals from 2008 to 2012, and Christian Bass, who plays drums from 2010 to 2011.
