The band recorded some rough, one-mic recordings and began playing shows in the Worcester area. A few months later the band expanded out to Boston, and New York City, while keeping Worcester as home. In June of 2009 Dental Plan recorded and mixed the Pants EP in a DIY studio. The Pants EP comprises four songs that encapsulate the dynamics and diversity of DP's unique sound. In September of 2009, the band won "BEST NEW ACT" in Worcester Magazine's Turtle Boy Music Awards as voted by fans. 2010 has brought reinvention.
