Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele is a four-piece indie pop group from Taylor, Mississippi. The group is signed to Paw Tracks, which releases its debut full-length album, The Good Feeling Music of Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele.
Background
The act is discovered by Animal Collective while they are recording Merriweather Post Pavilion, after attending one of the group’s shows in Mississippi. Dent May is also associated with the music of Serge Gainsbourg and Lee Hazlewood.
Other projects
May is a former member of the Mississippi power pop group the Rockwells. He is also part of the Oxford, Mississippi-based Cats Purring collective, with whom he releases the EP A Brush with Velvet.
