Denai Moore

Denai Moore is a Jamaican-born singer-songwriter whose work sits between soul, folk and piano-led pop. She is from Jamaica and also associated with Margate, and she moves to Stratford, East London with her family when she is 10. She gets her first guitar after that move.

Early releases

Moore first comes to wider attention after Flaws surfaces in 2012 through Hardlivings. Her first full release is the Saudade EP, which includes Wolves and Gone, and appears on Because Music. She follows it with The Lake EP in November 2013.

Further recordings and collaborations

In 2014 she releases I Swore and Feeling, and also works with SBTRKT on The Light. Her debut album, Elsewhere, is produced by Rodaidh McDonald, who has also worked with the xx and Savages, with additional work by Ben Drew, also known as Plan B. The album is preceded by the singles Blame and no light.
