Demons of Old Metal

Demons of Old Metal is a UK metal group formed at the end of 2010 by four veterans of the UK metal circuit. The band starts out with the aim of returning to the classic metal songs that first drew them to music, before developing that idea into original material.

Formation and early direction

The group forms in 2010 and initially focuses on playing classic metal. Their experience on the UK metal circuit, along with a schlock-horror image and stage show, leads them into writing their own material. The songwriting process begins in early summer 2012.

Releases and style

Demons of Old Metal self-release their debut mini-album, The Demonic Chronicles Vol. I, on Halloween 2012. The response from fans and media is strong, and the band goes on to build momentum around its own material. Their sound draws on a range of influences and is marked by a rhythm section, riffs, solos and vocals that move from guttural growls to banshee screams.

Later activity

The band plans a follow-up release, The Demonic Chronicles Vol. II, alongside a new music video, merchandise and extensive live appearances. The group is also presented as continuing to grow its audience under the name The Demonic Horde.
