Delta Sleep

Delta Sleep is a British math rock quartet from the United Kingdom, originally formed in Canterbury, Kent, in 2010. The group is formerly known as Sàvlön and is active from 2010 to the present. It is associated with dream pop, indie rock, math pop, math rock, Midwest emo and progressive rock, and releases music on Sofa Boy Records.

Formation and early line-up

Delta Sleep begins as a quartet made up of Devin Yuceil on lead vocals and guitar, Glen Hodgson on vocals and guitar, Maria Sullivan on vocals and bass, and Adam Brodigan on vocals and drums. After forming in Canterbury, the band moves to Brighton and starts performing there in earnest. Its songs centre on guitar-led melodies, jazz-influenced percussion, strong bass lines, shouted sections and chant-like vocals.

Releases and line-up changes

The band releases its self-titled debut EP in 2010. It then signs to Big Scary Monsters, which releases the follow-up Management in 2013. After that release, Sullivan and Brodigan leave amicably and are replaced by Dave Jackson on bass and Blake Mostyn on drums, both friends of the band. Delta Sleep later records at MAM Studios in Italy before issuing Ghost City in 2018. The group also releases Twin Galaxies in 2016 and the unplugged/compilation album Soft Sounds in 2020.

Performances

In 2015, Delta Sleep plays the post/math/noise rock Arctangent Festival.
