Delta Goodrem

Delta Goodrem is an Australian singer-songwriter, pianist and actress from Sydney. She is associated with pop, alternative pop, pop rock, rock and ballad styles, and records for The House of Oz Records. Born in 1984, she first becomes widely known through her role as Nina Tucker in the television soap opera Neighbours.

Music career

Goodrem releases four albums that reach number one in Australia: Innocent Eyes, Mistaken Identity, Delta and Wings of the Wild. Innocent Eyes, released in 2003, spends 29 weeks at number one, sells over a million copies in Australia and 2.5 million worldwide, and makes her one of the country’s highest-selling female recording artists. Mistaken Identity also enters the ARIA chart at number one and earns multi-platinum status.

Her third album, Delta, appears in 2007 and includes the singles “In This Life” and “Believe Again”. She describes the record as lighter in tone than Mistaken Identity. Goodrem achieves nine number one ARIA singles and multiple UK Top 10 singles, and her albums sell 3.5 million copies worldwide.

Tours, songs and collaborations

In 2005, Goodrem undertakes The Visualise Tour, her first concert tour of Australia. She also writes and performs theme songs for major Commonwealth Games events. “Together We Are One”, written with Brian McFadden and Guy Chambers for the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, is released after public demand and peaks at number two on the ARIA chart. She later performs “Welcome to Earth” for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Recognition and other work

Goodrem wins multiple ARIA Awards and a Logie Award. She is also classically trained as a pianist. In 2003, while her career is developing, she is diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and later recovers. She then spends much of her time supporting cancer charities.
