Delphic
Delphic is a British electronic and indie group from the United Kingdom, active from 2009. The band works in alternative dance and electronic music, and is associated with the Manchester scene.
Line-up
Delphic forms as a three-piece featuring James Cook on vocals and bass, Matt Cocksedge on guitar, and Richard Boardman on synths. Dan Hadley also appears with the group on drums.
Career
The band forms in 2009 and releases its first single, This Momentary, in 2009 on the French label Kitsuné. It appears on television on Later... with Jools Holland, and the video for This Momentary receives three nominations at the UK Music Video Awards. Delphic is also nominated for the BBC Sound of 2010 list, where it places third.
In 2010, Delphic tours the UK and releases its debut album Acolyte, which enters the UK album chart at number 8. The band later releases the single Halcyon on Polydor Records. Acolyte is also issued in North America on the Los Angeles label Dangerbird Records.
