Dego

Dego is the alias of Dennis McFarlane, a UK-born artist associated with Brooklyn and based in London. He is best known for his work in 4hero, which he forms with Marc Mac, and for his role in the broken beat scene.

Career

He has been making music for many years, with his style moving from drum and bass towards broken beat, which is especially evident in his later releases. His work also spans soul, electro funk, boogie and funk.

Groups and collaborations

Alongside 4hero, he is active in a number of other projects and groups, including DKD, Plutonia, Nu Era, Da One Away, Silhouette Brown, Jacob’s Optical Stairway, Jack Jones, Tom and Jerry and Cold Mission.

Solo work and aliases

He also releases music under several aliases, including Cousin Cockroach, Pavel Kostiuk, Nutmeg and MM Black. His associated label work includes Tom and Jerry.
