Deers

Deers is a Madrid-based Spanish indie rock group active since 2011 and later known as Hinds. The band’s core members are Ana García Perrote and Carlotta Cosials, both on vocals and guitar. In its earlier line-up, the group also includes Ade Martin on bass and backing vocals and Amber Grimbergen on drums.

Style and influences

The band is associated with indie rock, pop rock, garage rock, garage pop and lo-fi. Its sound is described in relation to C86-style groups, contemporary garage rock and 1960s pop-leaning bands. The members cite Black Lips, Ty Segall, The Parrots, The Strokes, The Vaccines and Mac DeMarco among their main influences.

Albums

The band releases its first three albums as a four-piece. Its debut album, Leave Me Alone, appears in 2016, followed by I Don't Run in 2018. The Prettiest Curse arrives in 2020 as the group’s third and last album as a four-piece. Viva Hinds appears in 2024 as the band’s fourth album and first as a duo.
