Death Masks
Death Masks begins as a solo project built around one man’s grief-pop songs and then develops into a five-piece dreampop act. The group is based in Manchester and draws on indie, shoegaze and indie rock, with a sound that mixes late-1980s shoegaze, pop melodies and psychedelic sections.
The band builds a reputation for loud live shows across the North West of England. Its debut single, Left A Message, is self-released and receives airplay from Steve Lamacq and John Kennedy. Death Masks also releases a split EP with Liverpool band Tear Talk.
