Dean Newton is a DJ and electronic music producer from Edinburgh, United Kingdom. His interest in dance music and DJing begins at the age of 12, and he starts out playing rave and early house while working in Edinburgh record shops. Over time he develops a style of his own and becomes one of the city’s more in-demand DJs.

Production and releases

Newton releases productions on labels including Subliminal, Black Hole, CR2, Armada, Spinnin' and Pacha. He works both as a solo artist and with production partner and close friend Huggy. His sound draws on house and techno, and his work receives support from figures such as Tiesto, Erick Morillo and David Guetta.

DJ work

As a DJ, Newton is known for high-energy sets played over three turntables. He performs in clubs and at events around the world, and he also holds an eight-year residency for the monthly Edinburgh night Luvely.

Radio support and recognition

His productions receive radio support from Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Marcus Schulz, Eddie Halliwell and Roger Sanchez. He is described as self-taught as a producer, with a style that moves across different parts of house and techno while remaining focused on the dancefloor.
