Deadbeats

Deadbeats are a downtempo duo from Nottingham, United Kingdom, made up of Ged Day and Damian Stanley. They are also known as The Deadbeats and have been active since 1995. The group begins as DJs, with roots in Nottingham’s Garage scene.

Style and releases

Their music sits in downtempo, chillout, lounge, electronic and trip-hop territory. Their productions include Feel Good, Funky for You and Made in the Shade, the last of which appears on the Lounging album. Their later album Made in The Shade is released on Wax On Records Ltd.

Compilations and collaborations

Deadbeats feature on numerous compilations, including releases associated with Mr. Scruff and Nightmares on Wax. Damian Stanley also works as an engineer for labels and acts including UMM, Warp, Junior Boys Own and Chrissie Hynde.
