Dead Wretched are a punk group from Birmingham. They form part of the UK ’82 punk scene and play with a fast, loud style associated with that period.

Formation and line-up

The band forms in Birmingham, England. Their original line-up consists of Bill Idiot on vocals, Mickey Coyle on bass, Bazz Harding on guitar and Dirty Des on drums. In a later reformation, the line-up includes Mickey, Bill and Bazz, with Neil Deathridge on drums. Neil Deathridge is also known for work with Beat and other projects.

Recordings and releases

Dead Wretched sign to Inferno Records and issue two EPs in 1982: No Hope for Anyone EP and Convicted EP. They also appear on the compilation The Bright Side of Oi! in 1994.

Style and context

Although they are sometimes linked with Oi!, the band does not claim that label. Their sound sits within punk rock and street punk, with UK82 as a key reference point.
