Dead City Ruins
Dead City Ruins are a hard rock group from Melbourne, Australia. They start out in London and later move back to Australia, playing a long run of small pubs and clubs along the way. Their sound combines the musicianship of 1970s and 1980s metal, bluesy rock riffs and the intensity and attitude of punk rock.
Releases
The group releases one EP, Lost in London, and then their debut album Midnight Killer. The album receives online praise and regular play on local radio.
Live work
Dead City Ruins build a reputation through heavy touring and live shows in venues across London and Melbourne. In 2011, they complete their first UK and European tour, playing 50 dates in 10 countries, and finish the tour at an international music festival in Dubai.
Style and background
The band describe themselves through working-class hard rock themes, drawing on good times, bad times, disappointments, achievements and city life. Their music is rooted in classic hard rock but also pulls from blues and punk influences.
