Day Fly

Day Fly is a group led by Dutch producer K The Fresh and English singer-songwriter Beau Nox. The act develops around a combination of soul, hip hop and alternative pop, with a sound that also draws on electronic elements. Its name is framed as a reference to an outlier figure, a soul outside social norms, and as a symbol of impermanence and the fragility of life.

The project presents itself as a duo at its core, with K The Fresh and Beau Nox as the principal collaborators. For live performance, Day Fly expands into a quintet. The line-up includes Lennard Vink on synth and keys, Theo Jacobs on bass and Moog, and Timothy Bennet on drums and SPD. The live arrangement is described as a way of bringing its debut EP to the stage with a broader sound.

The group’s music is characterised by a mix of Beau Nox’s vocal ad libs and K The Fresh’s synth-based guitar playing. It aims for a colourful range of textures while keeping its roots in soul-led songwriting and beat-driven production.
