David Vunk is a Dutch DJ and electronic music artist based in the Netherlands. He starts DJing in the early 1990s and becomes known for his record selection and for sets that draw on Chicago, electro, disco, techno, Italo disco, acid and house. His work is associated with the west coast sound of Holland.

Career

Vunk is active as a DJ across electronic music scenes in the Netherlands and abroad. He plays in cities including Rotterdam, Amsterdam, London, Dublin, Prague, Riga and Toulouse. In Rotterdam, he holds a residency at Nicola Tesla, described as a well-known club night in the city.

His DJ sets connect deep, rough, smooth and sensual styles, with an emphasis on dancefloor energy and careful track choice.

Releases and collaborations

Vunk releases music under the Pussycat name as part of a dark ghetto electro project. The discography listed for this project includes The Lick E.P., Count Doekoe E.P. and Promised You a Miracle E.P.. He also releases a record on Elektrobot Records.

He works with Alden Tyrell on Lord of the Cockrings, issued on Moustache Records. He also forms a collaboration with Tyrell in 2008 that results in a release on that label, including the tracks Lord of the Cockrings and Eagles End.
