Davey Arthur
Davey Arthur is an Irish folk singer and songwriter from Ireland, born Davey Pat Arthur in County Donegal. He moves to Scotland at the age of two and begins playing music at eight. At 18, he returns to Ireland and starts composing his own music.
Career
He first performs as a member of The Buskers with Paul Furey and Brendan Leeson. He later joins the Furey brothers as part of The Fureys & Davey Arthur, and this line-up becomes the one with which he is best known. After leaving the group in 1992, he continues with a solo career and tours under his own name.
Recording and songwriting
Arthur records two solo albums, Celtic Side Saddle and Cut to the Chase. He plays banjo, mandolin and guitar. Over the course of his career he writes more than 40 compositions, with his songs appearing on 28 albums.

He is associated with Irish folk and celtic folk. His work includes both group recordings and solo material, with a particular link to The Fureys & Davey Arthur and to The Buskers.
