Dave Formula

Dave Formula, born David Tomlinson in 1946, is an English keyboardist and film score composer from Whalley Range, United Kingdom, associated with rock and related styles. He starts his career in the mid-1960s and first gains wider attention with the R&B, blues and soul group St. Louis Union, which appears on Top of the Pops and in the film The Ghost Goes Gear, alongside the Spencer Davis Band. At that time, he works as an apprentice television engineer.

He later works as a cabaret musician and shares a flat with record producer Martin Hannett before joining Magazine. He plays with the post-punk band Magazine and also performs with Visage during the late 1970s and early 1980s. His other associations include Ludus and the world music group The Angel Brothers. He is also credited as a film score composer.
