Dave Arcari

Dave Arcari is a UK slide guitarist and songwriter whose alt blues sound draws on trash country, punk, rockabilly and pre-war Delta blues. He is active as a solo artist and is known for bottleneck and slide guitar playing, with a strong emphasis on National steel guitar.

Releases and style

Arcari has issued nine solo CD releases. His album Whisky in my Blood appears on Finnish label Blue North and features National steel guitars alongside banjo, regular guitar and cigar box, reflecting the range of his songwriting and performance. His Hellbound Train EP enters the iTunes blues chart at number seven. A follow-up album titled Givers & Takers is also part of his recorded output.

Live work and festivals

He builds a busy live schedule across the UK, the USA and mainland Europe, with regular shows in Finland, Estonia, France, Germany, Belgium, Poland and Ireland. In the US, he tours in 2013, 2014 and 2015, including official showcase performances at SXSW in Austin, Texas. His festival appearances include Glastonbury, BluesAlive, Moulin Blues, the Great British R&B Festival and Peer Festival, and he also plays an industry showcase at North by North East in Toronto.

Recognition and collaborations

Arcari is a finalist at the UK Indy Music Awards, reaching the top four in the best male solo artist category. He also appears on bills with Steve Earle, Alabama 3, Seasick Steve, Toby Keith and Jon Spencer.
