Daughtry

Daughtry is an American rock band from the United States, fronted by Chris Daughtry. The group is active from 2006 and works in alternative rock and hard rock. Its members include Chris Daughtry, Joey Barnes, Josh Paul, Josh Steely, Brian Craddock and Marty O’Brien. The band records on 19 Recordings, Inc.

History

Chris Daughtry forms the band after finishing as a finalist on the fifth season of American Idol. The group’s self-titled debut album appears in November 2006 and reaches number one on the Billboard 200. It sells more than four million copies in the United States and is certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA.

Commercial success

The debut album is named Billboard’s best-selling album of 2007 and becomes the fastest-selling debut rock album in Soundscan history. It produces four top 20 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including the top five hits “It’s Not Over” and “Home”.
