Daryl Johns is a jazz musician from New Jersey, United States. He grows up in a household shaped by jazz and learns upright bass in that environment, developing an early attachment to the genre.

While attending college in New York, he begins to explore other styles after a hand injury limits his ability to continue on upright bass. His music is described as a blend he calls “American Bubblegum Country Jazz Fusion,” and he also characterises it as “sugar-powered anthems for the everyman.”

Johns collaborates with a range of artists and groups, including Drugdealer, Pat Metheny, Sam Wilkes, Onyx Collective and the Lemon Twigs. His debut album, Daryl Johns, is released on Mac’s Record Label.
