Darkstar

Darkstar is a London-based electronic duo formed in 2006. The group consists of Aiden Whalley and James Young, and works within electronic music, with a dubstep background and a broad, experimental approach to pop and ambient sound.

Over the years, Darkstar develops a reputation for idiosyncratic electronic pop and remains active within the UK scene. The duo releases music on 2010 Records and Warp.

Collaborations and projects

Darkstar works with a range of artists including Actress, Wild Beasts and Zomby. The duo also releases music with Empress Of and Gaika. Beyond recorded collaborations, it works with director Lucy Luscombe and Random Acts for Channel 4, contributes to live dance performances with choreographer Holly Blakey, and scores the short film Dreamlands, which is nominated for the Palme d’Or.
