Career
The group forms in Cheshire, England, and comes to prominence in the late 1990s with the single “Sunchyme”. The track reaches number two in the United Kingdom, Scotland, Denmark and Switzerland, number one on the US Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart, and also tops the US Dance Club Songs chart and the Hungarian chart. Dario G then release their debut album, Sunmachine, in 1998, followed by the singles “Carnaval de Paris” and “Sunmachine”.
After Sunmachine, Rosser and Stephen Spencer leave the group to work on other projects, while Paul Spencer continues to record and perform under the Dario G name. In 2000 the group records “Voices”, which appears on the soundtrack to the film The Beach. That same year, “Dream to Me” appears as the lead single from the second studio album, In Full Colour, with Straumstøyl on lead vocals. The single reaches number one in Romania, number four in Scotland, and number nine in both the United Kingdom and Germany.
