Daniel Stefanik

Daniel Stefanik is a German electronic music producer and DJ from Großenhain, Germany, associated with minimal, minimal techno, dub techno, techno and deep house. He first comes into contact with electronic music in the mid-1990s, with Detroit techno shaping his early interests. He begins as a DJ and plays at parties and clubs including Tresor in Berlin and Strasse E in Dresden.

Production work and labels

Stefanik moves away from turntablism and develops production work across minimal, dubby, abstract and deep styles. After relocating to Leipzig, he joins the Statik Entertainment group and founds the netlabel Instabil. He also starts his own label, Cargo Edition, in 2006. His music appears on Moon Harbour, Mobilee and Instabil.

Collaborations

He works with Matthias Tanzmann, the DJ, producer and label owner of Moon Harbour Records, on releases and remixes under the name Tanzmann & Stefanik.
