Daniel P. Carter is a musician and broadcaster from Reading, United Kingdom, born in 1974. He is associated with the UK emo and hardcore scenes and has played in bands and helped put on shows.
Music career
From 1998, he plays in the band A, which releases four albums and achieves mainstream success. The band tours widely and plays shows and festivals alongside acts including Blink 182, Deftones, Lostprophets, Muse and The Offspring.
During periods away from A, he starts The Lucky Nine with members of Hundred Reasons. The project exists as a space to write and perform material that differs from what they do in their main bands. The Lucky Nine release an EP and a well-received album, and tour England, Europe and Japan.
Broadcasting
Carter also presents the only dedicated rock and metal show on a major radio station. He describes heavy music as a lifelong interest, first shaped by hearing Iron Maiden and AC/DC on his brother’s cassettes, and he presents the show as a way to share new music with both long-time fans and curious listeners.
Other projects
He is also listed with Hexes and Reclus.É.
