Daniel Drumz, also known as DJ Taśmy, is a Polish DJ, turntablist, producer and record collector. He is born in 1985 in Stalowa Wola and lives in Krakow. He is a member of Grammatik.

Turntablism and DJ work

Daniel Drumz places turntablism at the centre of his work. He is a vice-champion at the ITF Poland 2005 Finals in the beat juggling category, and he appears on the finals releases from ITF Poland 2003, 2004 and 2005, including sets in the Advancement and Beat Juggling categories. His DJ Taśmy mix CDs include Inna Caribbean Stylee from 2004, which draws on dancehall, hip-hop and soca, and Footprints vol. 3 from 2005, described as a jazz mix CD.

Releases and production credits

His releases include Electric Relaxation from 2006, a hip-hop and soul mix CD with guests Smark and Pat Patent, and Nightsessions At Seventh Floor from 2007, a funk mix CD with guest DJ Krime on piano and cuts. He also contributes cuts and production work to a number of Polish hip-hop releases. These include Eldo’s 27, on which he provides cuts across the album and produces “I’m In Love”; Dinal’s W strefie jarania i w strefie rymowania, where he handles cuts on “To nie jest ten” and “Talent”; and Eldo/Bitnix’s Człowiek, który chciał ukraść alfabet, where he provides cuts throughout. He also contributes to JuNouDet’s JuNouMi, including cuts on “Najki” alongside Kixnare and Smark, and production of the intro to JuNouMi vol 3.

Grammatik and collaborations

He works with Grammatik on Pozycje Obowiązkowe and the DVD Grammatik 3, providing cuts across both releases. Other credits listed for him include Deobe/Dena’s deobedena.com, where he handles cuts throughout, and a remix of Triptik’s “Inititule” on RapFrancuski EP vol. 1. His work also appears on a compilation in the JuNouMi series. Across these releases he is active as a DJ, turntablist and producer, with credits spanning funk, jazz and hip-hop contexts.
