Daniel Bedingfield

Daniel Bedingfield is a singer-songwriter with a sound usually classed as pop and electronic. Born in 1979, he is originally from Auckland and is based in the United Kingdom. He is known as an older brother of pop singer Natasha Bedingfield and jazz singer Nikola Rachelle.

Early life and background

He moves to the United Kingdom as a child and grows up there. His parents are missionaries, and he is an outspoken Christian. He shares his faith publicly during concerts and sometimes in his songs.

Career

His breakthrough comes with “Gotta Get Thru This”, a track he records in his bedroom. The song builds momentum on white label and becomes a UK number one in December 2001. He follows it with two more number one singles, “If You’re Not The One” and “Never Gonna Leave Your Side”, along with two further top 10 singles and a top 30 single. His album Gotta Get Thru This also reaches number two in the UK albums chart.
