Dani is the stage name of Daniele Groule, a French singer and actress from Castres, France, born in 1944. She works in chanson française and is also known for her film appearances.

Career

Dani is associated with French pop and ye-yé as well as chanson française. She is meant to have represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, but did not take part after the death of President Georges Pompidou in the week of the competition. In cinema, she appears in L'amour en fuite (Love on the Run), part of the Antoine Doinel series, in 1979.

Later work

After drug problems in the late 1970s, Dani writes about that period in a book. She returns to music with the help of Etienne Daho. In 1993 she records N Comme Never Again with J.J. Burnel and Dave Greenfield of The Stranglers.

Other activity

She later runs the flower business Au nom de la Rose in France.
