Dancefloor Outlaws

Dancefloor Outlaws are a UK DJ group active since 2010 and based in Newquay, in the south west of England. The act is presented as a team of DJs working from a secret bunker near one of the UK’s main party destinations. Their style centres on dancefloor-focused funk, ghetto funk and funky breaks, built around funk-driven bass music.

Style and material

The group uses a large collection of its own productions, exclusive remixes and special edits. Its approach is aimed at club and festival crowds, with a set-up designed to keep an empty dancefloor moving. The act is also associated with party-rocking, crowd-pleasing DJ performances.

Remixes and releases

Dancefloor Outlaws produce remixes of a wide range of artists, including Tiesto, Diplo, Busta Rhymes, Dub Pistols, Basement Freaks, Dogtown Clash, 10cc, Warren G and Nate Dogg. They are also described as having a debut album in development, with material circulating in the festival circuit.

Background

According to the group’s own story, the project is linked to a late-night collaboration between “the South West’s funky hero” and “the founder of Ghetto Funk”, who combine their influences into a single outlet for bass-heavy dance music. Their location is given as Newquay, and their reach is described as extending from Newquay to New York.
