Dame Area
Dame Area is a Spanish post-punk duo from Barcelona. The group combines synths and live percussion, and its sound draws on industrial, noise and minimal synth elements as well as post-punk and electronic music.
The duo consists of Silvia Konstance Costan and Víctor Hurtado. Both are involved in other projects, including Futuro de Hierro, Ordre Etern and QA'A, and Hurtado also works as a collaborator with Nurse with Wound and Jochen Arbeit of Einstürzende Neubauten. The pair are part of the Màgia Roja label and collective, with Hurtado serving as resident DJ there.
Dame Area starts live activity in 2018 and tours extensively across Europe. At times the group performs as a trio with Jess Webb of Gnod and Anthroprophh on drums. Its music is described through several overlapping labels, including tribal wave, Latin EBM, techno punk and industrial post-punk.
Musically, the group combines synth bassline arpeggios, live percussion, noises and congas, and it also brings together Italian and Spanish influences. Its work is compared with the EBM and industrial-driven approach of Diseño Corbusier and with the drum compositions of Roberto de Simone.
Dame Area releases material on Mannequin Records, Kess Kill, BFE Records and Màgia Roja. Its LP Ondas Tribales is released on Mannequin Records.
