Dakesis
Dakesis are a five-piece heavy metal band from Birmingham, England, active since 2008. Their sound combines power metal, progressive metal, hard rock and traditional heavy metal, with influences from European power metal and contemporary prog. The band also describes its music as modern melodic metal and uses a tongue-in-cheek approach to the style.
History and releases
Formed in 2008, Dakesis develop within Birmingham’s metal scene and build a reputation as an independent group. They perform support slots for established acts in the genre, appear at festivals, and tour the UK. Their self-titled EP receives strong attention, and their first full-length album, Trial By Fire, follows after two years of work. The album is self-funded, produced by the band with help from engineer Jack Traveller of Wyrmsblood Productions, and issued on their own label, CapsAArx Records.
