Dagmar Zuniga
Dagmar Zuniga is a United States-based singer-songwriter associated with folk, psychedelic, experimental and dream pop. Recording takes place between 2019 and 2024, and the work is made as a solo project by Dagmar Vork.
Style and recording approach
The music is described as intimate and expansive, with songs that move like disrupted signals and are shaped by harmony, tape hiss and a tactile, close-mic feel. Zuniga records on a Tascam 424, which serves as a long-term companion in the process.
Debut album
Zuniga’s debut solo album is in filth your mystery is kingdom / far smile peasant in yellow music. It is written and recorded over five years in New York, Norway and Athens, Georgia. The album is uploaded to Bandcamp and YouTube and later appears digitally and physically through AD 93.
Reception and collaboration
The release draws a large online response and attracts attention from Mount Eerie, who invite Zuniga to tour with them.
