Da Tweekaz

Da Tweekaz are a Norwegian hardstyle duo made up of Kenth Kvien and Marcus Nordli. The act is based in Norway and is also listed with Marcus Philip Berg-Iversen Nordli and The Elite among its members. Before entering hardstyle, Kvien and Nordli make different kinds of harder popular music, then move into the scene in 2007.

Early releases and label work

After joining hardstyle, the pair send out promos of tracks including “Angeli Domini” and “Crowsong”, both of which later appear on leaked websites. “Angeli Domini” is later released on Spider Records, and the duo’s first release on the major hardstyle label Dirty Workz follows in 2010. They are signed to Dirty Workz and are associated with the Belgian label as their record home.

Style and reputation

Da Tweekaz are known for uplifting, energetic melodies and for using humour in their presentation. They are informally called the “Kings of Cheese”. Their official videos for “Wodka” and “Tequila” use exaggerated drinking and vomiting imagery. The pair also works with rubber duck squeaks in their hardstyle reworks of Defqon.1 anthems, releasing versions titled “No Ducks No Glory” and “DragonDucks” for the 2015 and 2016 anthems.

Other work

Although Da Tweekaz remain a hardstyle act, they also develop a profile in hardcore under the name Tweekacore, described as the 175 BPM version of Da Tweekaz.
