D Double E is a grime MC from Forest Gate, London. He is associated with the Newham Generals and with earlier crews including 187 Crew and Nasty Crew.

Career

He first appears as part of 187 Crew, alongside Jammer and Armour. The group is invited to join Nasty Crew, and most of them accept, although Jammer joins later after N.A.S.T.Y. are in contact with a record company and he is approached to work on production. D Double E becomes one of the early members of Nasty Crew, but later leaves after disagreements, reportedly linked to his use of the Nasty Crew name for solo bookings.

He leaves with Footsie and Monkstarr, and these MCs, together with DJ Tubby, form the Newham Generals. D Double E is a member of the group with Footsie and DJ Tubby, and Monkstarr later leaves to find God.

Newham Generals

The Newham Generals come out of the Newham borough of London and perform harsh grime music. The group is signed to Dirtee Stank, the label set up by Dizzee Rascal, and has a regular slot on the pirate radio station Rinse FM. Their debut album is Generally Speaking.
