Cytota

Cytota is a post-hardcore group made up of Youssef Ashraf, Joby Fitzgerald, Ryan Hamilton, Harry Jennings and Oliver Pike. The band forms in 2009, beginning when Joby Fitzgerald and Harry Jennings meet at a Fightstar show in Shepherd's Bush, London. Soon after, Youssef, Harry and Joby start writing material together at the Madhouse rehearsal studios in Birmingham, and Oliver Pike joins on bass a few weeks later to complete the line-up.

Recording and releases

In 2010, Cytota records its first EP, The Prosecutor, at Tree House Studios in Chesterfield. The sessions involve James Pinder and Carl Bown, who have also worked with acts including Trivium, Rise To Remain, Fightstar and Machine Head. The band uses the release to share its music more widely online.

Cytota builds a live reputation through support slots with Funeral For A Friend, While She Sleeps and Rise To Remain.
