Cybernetic Witch Cult

Cybernetic Witch Cult are a band from Cornwall, United Kingdom, active since 2013. Their sound draws on acid rock, doom metal, metal, progressive metal, progressive rock and psychedelic rock, and their wider influences include 1970s rock, stoner rock, space rock and science fiction B-movies.

Style and themes

The band presents itself as a serious group with a playful outlook. Its lyrics centre on invasions, time travel, space and cult horror, giving the music a strong science-fiction and fantasy theme alongside its heavy-rock basis.

Formation and lineup

Cybernetic Witch Cult form in Cornwall in winter 2013. After an early lineup change, Alex Wyld, Kale Deane and Liam Stocks become the main driving force behind the group. In late 2015, drummer Liam Stocks leaves and Rogan Collins takes his place.

Releases and activity

In 2015, the band plays 19 gigs and releases Morlock Rock, their album of that year. The same year they open for Diesel King, Wight, Tribulation and Skraeckoedlan, and receive radio play and coverage in Terrorizer and Classic Rock. Their fanbase grows significantly during this period.

In early 2016, the band writes and records a second album, Spaceous Cretaceous, which is released in 2016 and receives strong responses from critics and fans. The first pressing sells out. They also support Skraeckoedlan on the southwest dates of their UK tour and support Purson in Plymouth.

The group also has several festival appearances and moves towards more touring activity, with plans for mainland Europe mentioned for 2017.
