Culoe De Song

Culoe De Song is the performance name of Culolethu Zulu, a South African DJ and producer from Johannesburg. He works in afro house and house, and is also associated with deep house, tech house and techno.

His music career begins in early 2007, when he produces a track called 100 Zulu Warriors. The track appears on Black Coffee’s second release, Have Another One, and he regards it as the start of his place in South African music. It attracts attention after being passed on through the Red Bull Music Academy network, and leads to his signing with Black Coffee’s Soulistic Music label.

The music is described in terms of African house with an unusual character, and Culoe De Song develops his work as both a DJ and producer from that point onward.
