Cub Sport

Cub Sport is an Australian queer pop and indie-pop group from Brisbane, Australia. The band forms in 2010 around singer-songwriter Tim Nelson and first appears under the name Tim Nelson and the Cub Scouts, before shortening this to Cub Scouts and later to Cub Sport. It remains active from 2010 to the present.

Early releases and name changes

The group releases a self-titled EP in 2010. After a line-up change, it drops the “Tim Nelson and the” part of its name in 2011. Under the Cub Scouts name, it issues the singles “Evie” in 2011 and “Do You Hear” in 2012, then the second EP, Told You So, in 2012. Another single, “Pool!”, follows in 2013, and the band officially adopts the name Cub Sport in August 2013 before releasing “Paradise.”

Albums and later work

Cub Sport’s debut album, This Is Our Vice, appears in 2016. The album includes the singles “I Can’t Save You” and “Come On Mess Me Up.” The group’s line-up includes Bek Stoodley, Zoe Davis, Andrew Williams, Tim Nelson, Sam Netterfield and Dan Puusaari.
