Crystal Seagulls

Crystal Seagulls are a London rock band with an indie rock sound. They are a four-piece line-up made up of Jim on vocals and rhythm guitar, John on vocals and bass, Elz on backing vocals and lead guitar, and Ben on drums. The band is unsigned.

Recordings

In 2014, Crystal Seagulls release a four-track EP recorded at Angelic Studios and Fish Factory Studios with producer Sam Miller. The EP contains “Heart Won’t Beat”, “Time”, “Hands Inside the Dark” and “Toetapper”. “Heart Won’t Beat” brings together groove, pop and rock; “Time” is a dance-oriented summer track that is also used by an Icelandic pole dancing group and in a Spotify advert; “Hands Inside the Dark” is a song about infidelity with a psychedelic edge; and “Toetapper” is a fast, high-energy track described as dealing with sex, drugs and rock and roll.

Live activity

The band plays across the UK and has headlined venues including Barfly, The Water Rats, Proud, The Troubadour and The Notting Hill Arts Club. They also appear on the stage at Brisfest in 2012, and at the Isle of Wight Festival they play the Big Top stage, with their music used as the soundtrack for the whole weekend.
