Cry Baby and The Hoochie Coochie Boys
Cry Baby and The Hoochie Coochie Boys are a six-piece rhythm and blues band from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, in the UK. The group forms in 2008 and plays a mix of original material and covers with its own style.
Releases and live work
The band releases its first EP, Salt Glazed Blues, in June 2009. That release helps them secure gigs across the UK. They are known for energetic live performances and for playing uptempo blues.
Musical influences and line-up
Their sound draws on a range of blues and roots influences, including Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Howlin’ Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson, Johnny Cash and Elmore James. The line-up consists of Rob “Cry Baby” Wilkinson on harp and vocals, Graham Sells (Mr. G) on vocals and guitar, Vince Cutcliffe on guitar, Trevor Pinson on bass, Johnny “Fingers” Davies on keyboards, and Andy “The Motor” Carr on drums.
