Crim is the name of several different artists. One is a punk rock band founded in 2011 in Tarragona, Catalunya. This band releases punk rock records in Catalan and has issued five albums: Crim (2014), Blau sang, vermell cel (2016), Pare Nostre que Esteu a l'Infern (2018), 10 anys per veure una bona merda (2021) and Cançons de mort (2023). Another artist using the name is Crim, born Igor Golovin in 1988 in Riga, Latvia. This project works in dark drum'n'bass and electronic music. Golovin runs the label BioAttack RecordZ and creates music under the name PowerNoizze-Step.
A third artist, written as crim, is a Japanese arranger and guitarist. He is the only member of the doujin music circle gravity and also provides rock guest arrangements for the doujin circle Silver Forest.
The name is also used by CRIM, who begins recording music at the age of 13 and develops an emo-rap style shaped by emo and post-hardcore bands, as well as the 2016 Soundcloud scene and artists such as Lil Peep and XXXTentacion. He builds a makeshift recording setup with a blue snowball microphone, socks for soundproofing, sellotape and a cardboard box at the end of his friend Rory’s bed, and works with Rory over three years to record more than 500 songs. He teaches himself to mix, engineer and master his tracks, and also learns guitar so he can write his own melodies and co-produce his own music.
