Crash of Rhinos
Crash of Rhinos are a UK math rock group from Derby. The band forms in 2008 and is active from 2009 to 2014, with Paul Beal and Jim Cork among the members. Their line-up changes during their early period, with McBride and Roedog playing in Beal’s place before Beal returns.
Releases
The group releases both of its records as pay-what-you-like downloads. Its debut full-length, Distal, appears in 2011 and also comes out on double 12-inch vinyl on Triste and on CD through Brave Or Invincible. The second full-length, Knots, follows in 2013 and is issued by different labels for different territories: Big Scary Monsters in the UK, Topshelf Records in the US and To Lose La Track in Italy. The vinyl reaches a second pressing.
Reception and activity
Knots receives wide online coverage, including an 8.1 rating from Pitchfork Media. The band announces its breakup in 2014. It later regroups in 2025 and announces a new LP, Logbook, for 2026.
