Cracktown

Cracktown are a satirical blues, folk and country band from Kingston upon Hull, England. The group has two members: The Silver Fox, who sings and plays harmonica, and King Rat, who sings and plays guitar.

Style and subject matter

Their songs mainly parody modern culture and politics. Their live performances are described as controversial and humorous, with the Silver Fox addressing the audience with political satire, social commentary and abuse between songs. The act does not treat any subject as off limits in performance.

The group releases Songs in the key of F*ck off in 2003. A second album, There Must and shall be Midgets, is also associated with the band, with Sexual Cricket given as an alternative title in some accounts. It is said to include material from their live set and to be produced by Happy To Be Here.

Cracktown gig mainly around Hull and support acts including Sidewinder, Kimya Dawson, Jim Bob, Wreckless Eric and Edward Tudor-Pole.
