Covergirl
Covergirl is a post-punk group from London. The band releases music via Captured Tracks, and its debut 7-inch is issued on that label.
Another act with the same name is a post-hardcore and alternative rock band from Merthyr in South Wales. That group draws on influences including AFI, Queen, Feeder, Placebo, The Movielife and Glassjaw. In 2005 it releases the EP No Lycra, No Leotards, No Models, No Men, written with former member David Jones, known as Dai Dot, who leaves after recording and is replaced by Al. In September 2006 vocalist Ceri Collins leaves after a dispute over missing money, and the band later disbands in 2007. Collins goes on to record solo acoustic material and to play with Hands Of Hate, a band based mainly in Cannock, Birmingham. Al and Iwan continue to play in Covergirl, and Dai Dot later plans a return with a new acoustic-oriented band linked to the group’s more subdued material.
