Countless Skies
Countless Skies are a melodic death metal band from Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, active since 2012. Their sound combines melodic death metal with progressive elements and is influenced by Scandinavian melodeath groups. The band first emerges in late 2014 with a self-titled EP, which draws international attention and leads to an extensive run of shows across the UK.
Career
Following the response to their EP, Countless Skies play Bloodstock Open Air in 2015 and sign to Kolony Records. They then begin work on their debut album, New Dawn, which appears in 2016. The album receives positive coverage from outlets including New Noise Magazine, Metal Hammer and Zero Tolerance Magazine.
After New Dawn, the band tours the UK with Finland's Whispered and goes on to play shorter tours and its first dates abroad. These appearances include European festivals such as Dark Troll Festival, Skaldenfest and MetalDays.
Albums
The second album, Glow, is announced in 2020 for release on Willowtip Records. It continues the band's progressive approach to melodic death metal and centres on the title track, a 20-minute piece divided into three parts.
