Counterstrike

Counterstrike is a South African drum and bass group made up of Eaton Crous and Justin Scholtemeyer. Also known as Animal Chin and 500 Mills, they have been active as drum and bass DJs and producers since the mid-1990s and have been producing together since 1998.

Their output includes more than 40 12-inch vinyl releases on labels such as Moving Shadow, Human and Obscene. They launch their own imprint, Algorythm Recordings, in 2000, and the label includes releases by artists such as Current Value, Limewax, SPL, T.Z.A, The Panacea and Donny. The group performs regularly in Europe and the USA and DJs in 17 countries in 2009.

Counterstrike also operates as Counterstrike Recordings. Their music is associated with drum and bass, including darkstep and darkside.
